Wednesday 7th August 2024, Buea Council hosted the launch of the extension of the UHC: Universal Health Voucher in the South West and North West Regions of Cameroon by H.E Dr. Manaoda Malachie Minister of Public Health at the Chambers of the Buea Council.
This launch comes after Decision No0184/D/MINSANTE/CAB of January 30, 2023 by the Minister of Public Health. The ceremony was graced with the presence of the Secretary General at the Governor’s Office of the South west representing the Governor who was called to other state imperatives, Presidents of regional Houses of the South West and North West Regions, Senator Mbella Moki Charles, the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, the Divisional Officer for Fako, Regional Delegates, Religious authorities, the paramount chief for Buea and other traditional rulers.
In his welcome address Mayor David Mafani Namange Esq, welcomed the minister to the City of Legendary Hospitality and thanked him for such an initiative which is backed by the President of the republic in his vision to improve health care in Cameroon.
The mayor equally called to the attention of the minister and the authorities that be of the pending project of the Reference Hospital and he appealed for more specialized medical units at the Buea Regional Hospital Annex.
Dr. Manaoda Malachie Minister of Public Health elaborated on the advantages of the Universal health Care, which includes;
The day ended with Dr Manaoda Malachie been conferred the title of Mola Mefondo (A good ruler who allows others to grow) by the paramount ruler of Buea.
La commune de Limbé 2 (ou Limbé II) est une commune d’arrondissement située dans le département du Fako, au sein de la région du Sud-Ouest du Cameroun.
Créée par décret présidentiel en 2007, elle a pour chef-lieu le quartier de Mokundange (ou Mukudangé).
