Thursday 09th November 2023, the denizens of Buea had a tete a tete meeting with the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako Mr. Chaibou, in audience: Senator Mbella Moki Charles, the paramount ruler of Buea with a college of chiefs, clergymen, councillors of the Buea council, taxi drivers’ syndicates representatives, civil society actors and a host of political parties representatives.
In her welcome address the 1st Deputy Mayor Madam Akawo Minerva epse Molinge assured the S.D.O that, Buea Municipality is always ready to work in line with all the calls of administration and respect other state imperatives. She urged everyone to freely express themselves as it is for the good and benefit of the municipality.
The Senior Divisional Officer, talking to the audience, said he was out on a tour in the division to make sure that, the ghost town phenomena come to an end. That measures are been taken to make sure that defaulters should be seriously punished by the local administrators. He added that shops owner who won’t operate on Mondays will see their business premises closed and legal action met against them. Likewise public service workers who won’t go to work on Mondays, will be punished.
In exchange, the clergymen, political parties leaders, the traditional rulers, civil society actors all agreed to work hand in glove to curb this said ghost town and to work for long lasting peace not only within the Buea municipality but nationwide, as they accepted to be actors and agents to convoy this message in their various spheres of authority.
La commune de Limbé 2 (ou Limbé II) est une commune d’arrondissement située dans le département du Fako, au sein de la région du Sud-Ouest du Cameroun.
Créée par décret présidentiel en 2007, elle a pour chef-lieu le quartier de Mokundange (ou Mukudangé).
Elle s’étend sur environ 58 km² le long de l’océan Atlantique. Sa population, estimée à environ 16 400 habitants lors du recensement de 2005, est projetée à plus de 28 000 habitants en 2025.
